Gloria Bromell Tinubu, Ph.D
Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Tinubu is CEO and owner of GBT Associates, making the firm 100% Black-owned and 100% women-owned. Applied economist, agricultural economist, educator, and former public official, with over 40 years of experience in community economics in both rural and urban areas, Dr. Tinubu founded the Institute for Community Economists to build the capacity of everyday citizens to transform their local economies. She is Research-Extension Associate Professor at Tuskegee University in the College of Agriculture, Environment, and Nutrition Sciences and serves as Senior Research Associate for the Carver Integrative Sustainability Center’s State of African Americans in the Black Belt (SAABB) project. She formerly held the position of Director of Economic Development for the City of Georgetown, South Carolina.
Dr. Tinubu has more than 25 years experience in higher education serving as tenured professor and chair of the Economics Department at Spelman College, former president of Barber-Scotia College, and teaching associate at Coastal Carolina University. As a graduate student at Clemson University, she conducted the first scientific research ever done on heirs property and its impact on rural community development. In addition, she conducted groundbreaking research on the financial stability of South Carolina’s public water systems.
A former public official, Dr. Tinubu served in the Georgia General Assembly, the Georgia Board of Education, and the Atlanta City Council where she Chaired the Community Development Committee which provided oversight for budgets totalling over $250 million.

Adeoye "Soji" Tinubu, P.E.
Senior Vice President
Mr. Tinubu, Sr. VP of GBT Associates, brings over 40 years of senior management experience in program and contract management, project management, construction management, engineering design, and project controls. Throughout his 35-year career with WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff, he advanced to increasingly responsible roles which culminated in him serving as Director of LRT Engineering/Chief Engineer to the Toronto Transit City Light Rail Transit Plan, the largest transit project in North America in 2010 according to Metro Magazine (June 2010). Soji was an officer of WSP|Parsons Brinckerhoff, holding the position of Vice-President as well as Senior Technical Manager, Senior Professional Associate, and Project Manager.
As Director of LRT Engineering/Chief Engineer of the multibillion-dollar light rail transit (LRT), Soji was in charge of design and engineering of the 120 km (74.4 miles) system. Soji has led teams of multi-disciplined professionals on mega projects for major transit clients in Atlanta (MARTA), Miami (Miami Dade Transit), and Toronto, Canada (TTC). He also served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Williams-Russell and Johnson, a legacy minority engineering company in Atlanta.
Soji co-authored and presented groundbreaking research at the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Rail Transit Conference in 2005 entitled Sixty-Year Life Cycle Cost Analysis for Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Transit System. The publication examined the relationship between future cost and initial capital investment of the MARTA System. Soji is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the state of Georgia.
